Lasting Freshness
Posted by in Food Packaging
When purchasing a delicious bag of cookies, I always want them to stay fresh for as long as possible. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for and I think everyone has the same expectations. But one specific brand of cookies places them in a container than cannot be resealed in any way or form. The cookies slide out in a plastic tray but the laminated film does not close up once you push the tray back in.
Sure it’s easy to open and slide the tray out, but there is nothing keeping the air out of the cookies. There is also nothing keeping pests out either. I keep a clean home, especially the kitchen, but what if something were to get in? Needless to say, I’d be very upset about my cookie loss. I’m not sure who at the company thought this was a brilliant idea, but it’s far from it. Now I feel rushed to eat these cookies every time I get them. I don’t want them to go stale and I’m paranoid about bugs finding their way in. My alternative is to take the cookies out and place them in a plastic container or bag, but why should I have to repackage them?
The bottom line: choose flexible packaging that’s going to keep your products fresh as long as possible. Customers shouldn’t be forced to create their own packaging solutions.
